 Las Vegas offers a range of low cost activities which as a tourist you will relish.

  • The LINQ Promenade: An outdoor shopping and dining district. It offers a variety of budget-friendly options, including street performers and a variety of restaurants.
  • The Freemont Street Experience: This pedestrian mall features a large LED canopy and is home to a variety of street performers, vendors, and live music.
  • The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens: This free attraction features beautiful floral displays that change with the seasons.
  • The Mirage’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat: This free attraction features exotic animals, including dolphins, white tigers, and lions.
  • Seven Magic Mountains: Created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. A unique art form with huge painted rocks which are stacked vertically with 3 to 6 rocks in each pillar.

5. Travel in the city

Walk: Most preferred way to see The Strip is –Walk. Especially if you are in our focus area. It is a great way to see and experience and soak in the local flavors.

Biking: Renting a bike is an option but the place is so full of vehicles that it may be a little unsafe. There are no demarcated bike lanes in most places. If you think you know the place around and feel confident about it, there are a few bike rental agencies. Follow rules and avoid fines which can be a little heavy.

Las Vegas Monorail: which runs the length along the Strip is a good way to see the place. The Rail has 7 stops on the Strip to cover the entire Strip. A single trip is about $5, while a day pass is $15

Bus: There are SDX Bus and Deuce Bus. This is also a good way to get around in Vegas.

Taxi: A little costlier option but definitely quicker. You can get a taxi at many casinos. Airport to The Strip may cost about #25. Carry some cash as cards may have additional charges.

There are several places near the Las Vegas Strip that are popular tourist destinations and worth visiting (some are ideal for a day trip). Distance from Vegas Strip is the main criteria and hence filtered out places far from Vegas

  1. The Neon Museum: Located just north of the Strip, The Neon Museum is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the iconic neon signs of Las Vegas.
  2. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area: Located about 20 miles west of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon offers scenic drives, hiking trails, and rock climbing opportunities.

  4. Hoover Dam: Located about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam is a marvel of engineering and a popular tourist destination. Visitors can take a tour of the dam and learn about its history and construction.
  5. Valley of Fire State Park: Located about 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park, known for its red sandstone formations and ancient petroglyphs.
  6. Death Valley National Park: Located about 120 miles west of Las Vegas, Death Valley is known for its extreme temperatures and unique landscapes, including sand dunes, salt flats, and canyons.
