Orlando is a city known for its theme parks and family-friendly attractions. It’s also a great place to visit if you’re looking for a fun, affordable vacation. Here are some tips on how to make your trip even better:
Traveling to Orlando? Here are some helpful tips on how to get around the city.
Orlando is a huge place, so it can be hard to know where to go. We’ve got recommendations for how to get around Orlando.
If you’re looking for an adventure, try renting bikes! It’s easy and fun! And if you want something more relaxing, take a guided bike tour with Cycle Orange County (they provide helmets).
If you’re staying near Universal or Disney World, there are plenty of hotels with free shuttle service—like this one in Downtown Disney or this one near Epcot. You can also grab one of these rental cars or rent your own car at Hertz…or just get Uber!
You’ll find that admission to the Disney parks is pricy, but there are many cheap or free things that aren’t included. For example, Universal Orlando offers a lot of rides for free in their theme park! Also, you can get discounts on tickets through Groupon and LivingSocial if you’re interested in visiting one of those companies’ deals while in Orlando.
The best way to save money while traveling is by staying at an Airbnb hostel instead of a hotel or resort. It’s much cheaper than staying at a regular hotel room and it’s also more comfortable (and fun!). If you’re going somewhere with friends who want to stay together but don’t know where yet because it hasn’t been decided yet what type of accommodations will be chosen then make sure everyone knows about each other’s plans beforehand so they can coordinate their schedules accordingly if necessary.”
Check out this guide to the admission options at Universal Orlando.
If you’re planning on visiting Universal Orlando, it’s important to know what your options are for admission. The park offers several different types of tickets:
- A one-day pass (which includes everything in all four parks)
- A three-day pass (one park per day)
- A Flex Ticket (which allows visitors to visit any single park or all four within seven days)
If you want to save money at Universal, try checking out CityWalk, which is free and offers restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment.
If you want to save money at Universal, try checking out CityWalk, which is free and offers restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment. CityWalk is an entertainment district with restaurants, bars and shops located right outside the Universal parks.
You can also eat at CityWalk if you don’t have time for a full-on meal before your show or movie. Some of the more popular restaurants include Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville (pictured above), Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Sbarro Italian Kitchen & Pizza Oven as well as Hard Rock Cafe Orlando!
CityWalk has a variety of bars that are open until around 2AM during peak times like New Year’s Eve which makes it easier for those who haven’t been able to make it back home yet after seeing their favorite movie already because they need another drink or two before heading out again!
If you don’t mind a group setting and love animals, embark on a tour of Gatorland.
If you don’t mind a group setting and love animals, embark on a tour of Gatorland. The park is home to over 2,000 alligators from around the world, and it’s easy to see why they’re so popular with tourists! You can feed the alligators (and other animals), get up close and personal with them, or just enjoy watching them in their natural habitat. For those who are scared of snakes or other reptiles (like me), this experience may not be for you—but if you’re not afraid of anything else out there in the world then I highly recommend it!
For a cheaper option than the theme parks, check out the Orlando Science Center.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive option, check out the Orlando Science Center. The facility is free and open daily, so it’s a great place to visit with the whole family. There are many interactive exhibits here that will keep kids entertained while you enjoy seeing what else this science center has to offer.

Try your hand at something different at Andretti Indoor Go Karting & Games or Main Event Entertainment.
If you’re looking for something different to do while in Orlando, why not try your hand at something new? Andretti Indoor Go Karting & Games and Main Event Entertainment have plenty of options for all ages.
- Go-Kart Racing: If you love speed and adrenaline, go karts are a great way to spend an afternoon! You can even bring the whole family on a fun ride together.
- Bowling: Whether it’s just for fun or for competition, bowling is always a good time! And if there’s one thing everyone loves about bowling is that it doesn’t take long at all—you’ll be done before the movie starts!
- Miniature Golf: Take some time out from playing video games or watching TV and head over to this indoor mini golf course where players compete against each other by trying their best at getting their ball into certain holes while avoiding obstacles along the way (like water hazards!). A great place to hang out with friends as well!
Take to the water with an airboat ride at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures.
- Get to Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures by taking I-75 north to exit 64, then following U.S. Route 17 east for about five miles until you reach the park’s entrance on your left.
- The airboat ride is a great way to see alligators up close and personal as they swim around in their natural habitat.
- You can expect to be splashed with water by these big reptiles as they pass by your boat! Keep an eye out for other wildlife, such as turtles or snakes swimming near the edge of their territory (or even right next to them). Be sure not to accidentally step onto any land while on board because that could mean certain death if there are poisonous snakes nearby!
- Dress appropriately—wear closed shoes/sandals or flip-flops if possible because it may get muddy while floating downriver; bring along plenty of sunscreen so that you don’t burn afterwards (and always check weather conditions before heading out).
